This challenging position offers the right candidate the responsibility to lead and motivate 30 to 40 employees, knowing that your actions and decisions directly impact Pella?s bottom line.
Department Manager Responsibilities:
? Directly manage 30 ? 40 hourly employees
? 2nd shift, 8-10 hr shifts, paid overtime
? Responsible for your department?s safety, quality, and productivity
? Maintain budget for labor efficiencies in department
? Champion continuous improvement in the department (Kaizen, Lean Mfg)
? Reward and discipline employees
? Interview, hire, and train employees
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
? 4 year degree from an accredited college or university, or:
o 1?2 years related experience and/or training
o Equivalent combination of education and experience
? Demonstrated leadership skills
? Strong team player
? Enthusiasm and the ability to motivate others
? Very organized
? Experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement a plus
