Design Engineer

Express is looking for a Design Engineer who is responsible for researching, planning, and designing mechanical and electromechanical products, processes, and systems.   Will exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods and evaluating criteria for problem solving.  Job involves analyzing problems and developing solutions to various complex engineering related problems.  Will create CAD models and drawings using Solid Works software.  Will plan and document tests on components and machines.  Experience with structures, power trains, hydraulics, and electrical control systems is required.  Additionally, will perform primary research to gather information for various engineering needs.

 

 

Requirements:

 
BS in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of 3+ years design experience in continuous flow manufacturing environment, in support of manufacturing processes.
Excellent PC skills including experience with Excel, Word, and Solid works.  Must also be familiar with Ansys and MathCAD.
Outstanding problem solving and interpersonal skills and ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, JIT, TQM, and Continuous improvements techniques.
Commitment to Lean Manufacturing.

 

Desired Skills/Experience:

 
Experience in design of mobile hydraulic lifting equipment a plus.
Hands-on engineering experience in a fabrication/ assembly shop environment.
