DIRECTOR OF ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS

 

Atlantic States Cast Iron Pipe Company, a leading producer of ductile iron pressure pipe for the American Water Works industry, is seeking an experienced 'hands-on' Environmental Manager at its Phillipsburg, NJ facility.  Responsibilities include: implementation and management of the plant's Title V Permit, solid waste and process wastewater programs; establishment of plant specific work instructions in strict accordance with corporate policy and environmental procedures.  Supervises environmental staff and interacts with management and operating personnel to accomplish sustainable environmental compliance.  Directs outside consultants as needed and is liaison with divisional, corporate and legal environmental compliance personnel.  Must be able to foresee potential non-compliance issues.  Will work independently with minimal supervision and reports directly to the General Manager.

 

Candidates will have a BS or MS Degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent sciences, with ten or more years of industrial and supervisory environmental experience that includes CAA, RCRA, CWA and CERCLA.  Must have working knowledge of environmental related laws and regulations.  Must be computer proficient with MS Work and Excel.  Must have ability to communicate with all levels of personnel and working knowledge of Spanish is a plus.  Must have a desire to learn and constantly improve knowledge and skills.
