Director of Manufacturing Operations

Advanced Signing LLC is a leader in planning, designing, fabricating and installing custom sign programs.  Located in Medway and in existence for 25 years, our client roster reads like a who?s who of top New England corporate, education and financial institutions, and includes Fidelity Investments, EMC Corporation, CVS, Massachusetts General Hospital, BU, BC, MIT and Harvard University.

 

Advanced Signing is growing and we?re looking to fill the newly created role of Director of Operations. As a member of the senior management team you?ll report directly to the president and will be responsible for directing all manufacturing and installation operations which include four functional areas: drafting/art execution, fabrication, general assembly, and installation. You?ll execute all production and installation requirements in a timely and cost effective manner while meeting and exceeding customer expectations; manage staff of approximately 25 employees, including 4 functional group leaders; and directly contribute to the company?s strategy and growth while improving operational performance and Cost of Goods measures.

 

Additional responsibilities include:  Direct the scheduling and activities of all production and installation employees as required to meet production schedule goalsInitiate, recommend and implement continuous process improvement and lean manufacturing techniques to improve production metricsOversee continued implementation and utilization of ERP system throughout Operations, including training As a member of the senior management team, directly contribute to company growth through cross-functional activities and initiatives, and demonstrate leadership throughout Advanced SigningEnsure company compliance with OSHA, EPA, and any other regulatory agencies, and that MSDS procedures and documentation requirements are metHire, train, develop and monitor performance of all manufacturing employeesTranslate manufacturing requirements into effective workflow processesManage operation and maintenance of installation vehiclesMaintain P&L responsibility for Cost of Goods, and implement operational actions to improve this and  other metrics

 

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of ten years experience in a manufacturing organization, including at least five years in management role. Prior experience in $10 to $20M growing custom manufacturer is preferred.

? Experience implementing, training and using ERP software system(s)

? Experience in process improvement techniques that address shop floor time and materials management systems; demonstrated ability to recommend and implement lean manufacturing and continuous process improvements.

? Bachelors degree or equivalent; engineering major or coursework preferred

? Strong motivational leadership style: demonstrated ability to establish goals and priorities; assign and delegate work; manage performance; eliminate/resolve obstacles to production;

? Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written: able to provide clear direction and communicate with all levels of employees, maintaining two-way communication; resolves disputes fairly and quickly; listens well
