Director of Procurement

Selected candidate will be responsible for the execution of the overall strategic direction for domestic and international sourcing for Division ofTop Fortune 500 company. This includes actions and policies that affect defining, developing and maintaining supplier partner relationships, supplier selection and supply performance evaluations. This position will take a leading role in contract development and negotiations, teaming with the company's Consolidated Risk Management team. This position will be responsible for management of supplier development, focusing on improving the quality and lead-time, while lowering company's total cost, of the components being supplied.  Development activities will involve training and supporting the supplier in the application of ISO, Lean and Six Sigma in their business environment. Focus on cost reduction shall not be purely in the cost of materials, but reflect in reductions for total variable costs.

This position is responsible for identifying and leveraging consolidated synergies. This shall include areas such as the recommendation and leverage of consolidated volumes and design evaluation, material selection, international vendor development, improved vendor selection evaluation methods and verification of ongoing compliance, process improvements for the entire value chain, etc. Responsible for the development of "make vs. buy" modeling, working in concert with the cost accounting group. Responsible for the development and deployment of "real-time" supplier communication system, working with the company's Environmental Information Technology group. This position will require periodic international travel.

 

College degree in Business or Management is preferred.  A Masters Degree will be a plus.  Six plus years in supplier sourcing with international experience is preferred. Additionally, experience in supervision and building manaement systems is desired. Frequent travel to domestic locations is required.  Moderate to heavy international travel is possible.
