Documentation/Quality Control Specialist

Space Age Electronics, Inc., a leading manufacturer of products in the Life-Safety building Automation industry, has an opening for a Documentation/Quality Control Specialist. Most all of the electrical components are fairly simple and inspections are fairly straightforward. Need a critical thinker that can learn new and improve upon current systems. AutoCad, Freehand/Illustrator, and documentation experience a plus.

Specific responsibilities will include:Keep up and improve on current ISO system including scheduled audits, and following up on changes and corrective actions. Need to be able to work with Html and Perl (or similar) language to improve and change internal online documentation system as needed. Create parts and bill of materials in business system (Macola).Keep up and make changes as necessary to UL listing files. Pull product, prepare and Guide on-site inspections from UL. Prepare yearly renewal for UL and other listing agencies (CSFM, MEA).Help maintain and improve upon incoming and outgoing quality inspection process. This will include inspecting parts to prints and measuring certain electrical components to inspection criteria. Should know or be able to learn basic electrical principals.Make changes to drawings (in AutoCad, Freehand and SolidWorks) per ECO changes from manufacturing.

QualificationsBS or equivalent experience..Proven ability to manage the timely delivery of development projects and work well within a team structure for project realization.Proficient with ISO 9000 and eco documentation cycle.Innovative, assertive, and well organized.Excellent time management and planning skills.Able to work with a minimum of direction and supervision.Able to work independently and in a team environment.Professional oral and written communication and leadership skills.Additional Skills and AbilitiesAn understanding of 'best practice' and ISO compliant R&D standards/methods for design and documentation.Ability to explore, assimilate and identify/determine new/best technologies and methods for targeted design product and its applications.Experience developing mechanical sheet metal assemblies, as well as an understanding of current technology component level specifications/applications and hardware specifications.Expertise in mechanical assembly development, test, proof-of-design, performance, reliability and safety/listing/approvals standards.Expertise/Experience in all manner of prototyping generated hardware specifications and designs, as well as use of the common tools and instrumentation involved in production methods engineering for manufacturing/ production.Capable of being self-driven to succeed at tasks on tight schedules.Strong documentation, communications and project management skills.Must have strong motivational, innovative, and interpersonal skills; must have ability to work with diverse groups.Valid and current driver?s license.LocationThe candidate will be required to live within commuting distance from our facility in Sterling, MA.AgreementThe Company has the right to revise this description at any time.
