ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

Job Description:
As a key member of our food can manufacturing facility, the engineering technician will work closely with the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering to insure the following:*  Responsible for providing a safe work environment for our employees.  Promotes "SAFETY" in all aspects of the operation.* Assists engineers and manufacturing staff on new and continuing engineering projects.* Plans, coordinates and monitors engineering projects.* Supports the department manager in all aspects of daily operations.* Supports the continuous operation process.*  Consults with design  engineers on features needed for new and existing  installation.*  Prepares purchase requisitions or work orders to obtain needed tools or parts for installation.*  Coordinates staff, and assists in set-up die and equipment assembly and  debugging for installation to insure on-time completion.*  Investigates and resolves engineering related manufacturing problems.*  Compares dimensions of parts to blueprints and resolves differences by  modifying or redesigning.*  Assists with satellite plant installations, as needed, including set up,  assembly, problem-solving and follow-up project completion.*  Must possess excellent communication skills.

Job Requirements:
Must possess a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.Must possess 3 - 5 years' experience involving high speed manufacturing equipment --  Ideally light metal stamping.Must have the ability to troubleshoot equipment, analyze root cause and develop effective solutions.Must have a high mechanical aptitude.Must be detail-oriented.Must possess knowledge of Auto CAD.Must possess strong organization/computer skills (Microsoft Office - Excel, Word.Must be a proven leader and be a self-starter.Must be able to work any shift - and extended hours.Must be able to work independently.Must have the potential for advancement.Must adapt well to change.Must possess a "Sense of Urgency" in work habits.
