ENVIRONMENTAL and SAFETY COORDINATOR

Roll Coater, Inc. is a premier continuous process, quality-added company engaged inthe coil coating industry in supplying high quality painted products to the appliance, construction, door, automotive, lighting and HVAC markets. In addition, the company provides a variety of added value coil processing services and is headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana. Roll Coater, Inc. has four major painting facility locations. Currently, the company has an immediate opening for an Environmental and Safety Coordinator at its facility in Kingsbury, Indiana.

This position, which reports directly to the corporate Environmental Manager and indirectly to the location?s Plant Superintendent, is responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations at the facility. Duties include performing internal audits as necessary, EHS program development / implementation, employee training, continuous improvement, and other initiatives.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
? Technical resource at the plant on industrial wastewater treatment, environmental compliance, industrial hygiene, federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
? Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations at the facility. Ensure periodic environmental and safety inspections are performed at the location. Act in an advisory capacity to each facility on regulatory compliance matters.
? Train / coordinate training of facility personnel in environmental, health, and safety regulatory required topics.
? Lead operations personnel towards a focus and commitment to a safe work place and environmental compliance excellence.
? Develop initiatives for the facility aimed at improving environmental compliance and the health and safety of all employees.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
? Bachelors degree (Environmental Engineering or related science preferred)
? Proven environmental compliance background with demonstrated results (five years minimum) in the environmental compliance field, including industrial wastewater treatment, hazardous waste management, and air pollution control.
? Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local industrial safety regulations and experience administering safety programs in unionized industry.
? Strong oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal/negotiation skills.
? Ability to manage multiple assignments and balance time allotted appropriately.
? Experience with ISO 14001 compliant environmental management systems.
