EW General Laborer (Pool Req)

Job Description

Major Responsibilities:

The successful candidate must be a self-starter, able to work within a team environment, able to work with minimum supervision, and contribute to the overall success of the Electrowinning operation and its crews. Team members are required to lift or move up to 50 lbs., related to the stainless blanks and cathodes in the EW process. Candidates are required to safely and effectively learn all EW duties including: operation overhead crane for the duration of a 12-hour shift, sample cutting, blank maintenance, housekeeping, forklift operation, cell maintenance, or other heavy equipment. These responsibilities require the ability to walk for extended periods of time and use hand tools.

Minimum Requirements:

-Possess an excellent attendance and safety record.
-Willing and able to work a 12-hour shift schedule or other shift as assigned.
-Ability to share job responsibilities and be flexible with work schedule and start times.
-Ability to participate in a high performing team environment.
-Ability to communicate and interact with other teams.
-Ability to wear a respirator and tankhouse PPE.
-Internal candidates must be eligible for transfer per the Guiding Principles.

Preferred Qualifications:

-One year of operating overhead cranes, forklifts, or other heavy equipment.
-Completed Observer training or equivalent.
-Ability to repair and maintain machinery and equipment.
-Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office software
