Electric Shovel Operator

Job Description

Major Responsibilities:

Participating in a team-based work environment while safely operating an electric shovel for the purpose of continuous loading of haul trucks. Other primary duties will include safely and efficiently maneuvering the shovel for the purpose of relocation and set-up of equipment. May occasionally be required to operate rubbertire dozers, haulage units and perform ground laborer duties. The successful candidate must perform other duties as assigned and work overtime as required.

Minimum Requirements:

- prior operating experience on electric mining shovel with the ability to mine to and maintain planned elevation controls
- A good understanding of shovel pit set-ups and customer service
- Excellent safety and attendance record
- Be eligible for transfer per the Guiding Principles

Preferred Qualifications:

- Six (6) months operating experience on electric mining shovel with the ability to mine to and maintain planned elevation controls
- A good understanding and application of GPS for shovel production
- Specifically trained to operate shovels used by PDMI
- Production record that reflects proficient skills in safely achieving tons per hour and load weights
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office Professional
