Job Purpose:

Design complex electrical systems under minimal supervision and within extablished policies, procedures, and engineering practices.  Familiarity and understanding of manufacturing processes and establishment of close working relationship with the manufacturing group to insure designs and drawings meet production and manufacturing requirements.



Duties:

* Design control panels, hardware, softeware, programming and external wiring and routing following the established protocol.  Create and maintain drawings, documentation and programs.

 

* Collaborates with other engineers and manufacturing departments to insure designs are compatible with manufacturing capabilities and company established standard parts.

 

* Provide technical assistance to Manufacturing, Sales, and Marketing Groups.

 

* Reviews job order requirements with Supervisor and Project Management to insure contract requirements meet standard.

 

* Travels world wide as required, to field locations to observe equipment operations for perfecting designs and to assist with installation and service problems.

 

* Interfaces with vendors to develop sources and specifications for materials and components required to execute designs.

 

* Responsible for compliance with N.E.C., U.L, CE and other codes as necessary.

 

Qualifications:

 

* BSEE with at least three years experience.

 

* Able to understand calculations, design layouts and programming necessary to produce components and assemblies of various products and systems and to maintain an awareness of product requirements, including various development testing programs as may occur.

 

* Thorough working knowledge of foreign and domestic electrical codes, motor wiring, photo eyses, timers, and switches.

 

* Experience in supervising associate engineers and drafters.

 

* Experience with RSLogix500 and RSLogix5000 PLC software.

 

* Experience with Proface (formerly TCP), CTC, Panelview, and Panelview+ touchscreens and software.

 

*Experience with robotic controls such as Fanuc and Emerson.
