Electrical Engineering Technician

General Summary:

The Electrical Engineering Technician is responsible for providing technical support to production for electrical or electronic matters with respect to equipment, materials, or product assembly.  Will involve reading engineering schematics, troubleshooting circuits, fabricating electronics or other tasks assigned by a Manufacturing Engineer or Manufacturing Engineering Manager.  Requires  knowledge of electronics and circuit theory and related experience.  Must be able to work alongside production and communicate effectively with Department managers, Engineering, and other departments. 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:  Provide technical support to production for electrical or electronic mattersFabricate electronics and troubleshoot circuit boards according to engineering data, schematics and specifications.Modify or repair electrical and electronics systems to correct functional or manufacturing deviations.Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate performance of systems under simulated operating conditions, and record results.Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve manufacturing problems.Build, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical instruments or testing equipment.Creating documentation or proceduresTrain production personnel on new or revised SOPsOther duties and responsibilities will be assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of electronics, circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming, Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.Knowledge in electrical testing and inspection methods and associated inspection equipment.Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision electronics.Ability to troubleshoot and determine corrective action using logic, reasoning and repair techniques.Knowledge in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and WordKnowledge of algebra and trigonometrySkill to communicate orally and in writing with co-workers and managementWillingness to attend to small details

 

 

Education & Experience:Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology or extensive experience in the field of circuit board design or pressure sensor design and manufacturing.
