Electro-Mechanical Technician and Trainee

Under moderate supervision, works from production blueprints, wiring diagrams, parts lists, sketches, and verbal instructions to perform a variety of mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly and fabrication operations. Utilizes a variety of hand power tools and test equipment.

Builds varied sub-assemblies and installs parts and assemblies such as panels, pulleys, switching mechanisms, motors, power supplies, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic units, valves and actuators, routes and wires electrical systems. Makes visual inspections and establishes functional checks.  Upon attainment of the necessary level of expertise in RF technology in this position, there may be an opportunity to become, "field service certified."

With this certification, the E/M Technician receives a substantial increase in pay and is expected to travel to customer sites to assist in equipment installations, customer training and maintenance tasks.  Travel opportunities may include North and South America, Europe, Australia and the Far East.

On-the-job training is provided to prepare the person in this position for promotional opportunities.
