Electronic Prepress Technician

Job Purpose:

To utilize your 3+ years of experience with Mac and PC related Quark, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Freehand production software to check, troubleshoot and repair customers' electronic art files and prepare them for stripping.  Your work will enhance the growth plans of a world class, independent folding carton manufacturer.  (See Warnekepaperbox.com for more information)

 

Duties:

*Receive incoming files from Internet, email or disk and inform management of their arrival.

*Inspect incoming files and prepare a report of any potential problems with those files.

*Generate hard copy if the customer has not provided copy.

*Work with customers through sales/management in helping them provide correct files.

*Quote time for repairing problems with customers' files.

*Repair problems with customers' files.

*Collect various electronic components into a Job folder on the Job Server.

*Generate Proof Slip based on information from job ticket.

 

Skills/Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years experience with Quark, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Freehand and all other production related software for both Mac and PC.  Must be a self starter, able to solve problems relating to the customers' files and be able to communicate effectively with company personnel, customers and vendors.
