Environmental ,Health & Safety Engineer

We are currently seeking an experienced Environmental, Health and Safety Engineer to support this function at our business unit in Clinton Twp, MI. This colleague will serve as one of the key person at this site in the coordination and implementation of the environmental and safety programs in accordance with Tower Automotive's standards and will contribute to meeting the mission, vision, values and goals of the system and all other applicable regulatory and/or accrediting agencies while striving to maintain an incident free workplace.

Some of the responsibilities for this colleague will be to:
* Coordinate the environmental, health and safety programs and systems to ensure a safe work environment consistent with regulatory, environmental, and company best practices requirements.
* Provide direction and leadership to ensure a safe work environment for all colleagues consistent with business plan objectives.
*Management of our internal safety and environmental audit protocols.
* Provide leadership, training and education of all colleagues to meet established safety objectives.
* Ability to lead behavior based safety training.
* Provide overall coordination for implementation and communication of Tower Automotive Environmental, Health and Safety Management System.
* Ensure compliance with all internal & OSHA/MIOSHA safety programs, industrial hygiene practices, policies, and procedures through inspections, investigations, training & development.
* Solid background in ergonomics.
* Participate and lead programs, procedures, and conduct training to ensure continued certification in our ISO14001 standards of excellence.


Requirements and/or Education:
* 2 to 5 years of safety experience within a plant environment.
* Bachelors Degree or is working towards a degree in Occupational Health & Safety.
* Certified Safety Professional Certification a plus.
* Must have Microsoft Office Suite knowledge and have the ability to learn internal computer systems.
