Equipment Engineering Tech III - Manufacturing

Jazz Semiconductor currently has an Equipment Engineering Tech III position available at its Newport Beach facility.
Position Description:
Responsible for providing technical and hands-on service of semiconductor, including trouble shooting, repair, calibration, set up and functional operation.  Establish specifications and/or verbal instructions for maintenance of equipment.  Assist in evaluating and resolving maintenance requirements to ensure maximum availability of production and test equipment.  Lead/direct the activities of functional area shift pass downs and set priorities based on production requirements to following shift.
Responsibilities:

 - Assist in analyzing and resolving recurring maintenance problems and equipment failures and/or deficiencies to identify failure patterns and equipment design or reliability problems.  Perform technical servicing of semiconductor production and support equipment.
 - Lead and direct the activities to develop/improve existing semiconductor equipment maintenance procedures and systems.
 - Collect equipment-specific performance data working with EES to develop and implement solutions to equipment-specific pareto issues.
 - Identify deficiency and suggest and/or implement permanent solutions to semiconductor equipment issues.
 - Lead and/or assist in analyzing and resolving equipment-related failures.
 - Provide technical equipment-specific training to lower level technicians.
 - Interface and direct vendor support to resolve equipment related failures.
 - Perform diagnostic trouble shooting and repair on malfunctioning equipment to component level Recommend equipment modifications and interface with engineering as required.
 - Perform technical servicing on production and test equipment.
 - Perform process and test yield investigations related to design and equipment specifications.
 - Lead/direct ERT/Safety events, during the absence of supervision.
 - Ensure all required parts are on order and follow up as required

Experience:
3 - 5 years technical experience in the semiconductor industry.  Must have demonstrated working knowledge of advanced electro-mechanical systems operations and maintenance and be able to work with minimal or no assistance.  Advanced knowledge of electronic theory, vacuum and pneumatics theory, principles of electrical circuits and test procedures and the ability to troubleshoot to component levels.

Education:
Associate of Science degree with an emphasis in Electronics or equivalent.
