Estimators needed for manufacturing (Permanent & Temporary)

Responsible for estimating hour and material costs related to Requests for Quote (RFQs) received by M7 Aerospace Aerostructures.  This position reports to the Director of Manufacturing.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

 

1.  Be able to estimate realistic, accurate, and achievable hour/material costs and supply that data to the M7 Finance team for pricing so that M7 can provide a competitive quote to the customer which if awarded will make M7 the profit margin required.

2.  Communicate with all Aerostructures Manufacturing teams and related departments during the RFQ process so that everyone is in agreement when quote is submitted and subsequently awarded.

3. Solve technical manufacturing problems.

4. Evaluate capitol equipment proposals as required.

5. Evaluate planning change requests to improve manufacturing production.

6. Investigate and evaluate proposed engineering solutions to customer service problems.Maintain safe practices in area of responsibility.Perform other related duties as assigned.Daily attendance is an essential for this position.

 

EDUCATION & TRAINING:

 

Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience in this or a related field required.  Must be able to read and interpret aerospace engineering drawings and specifications.  Must have a strong understanding of aerospace sheet metal and machining manufacturing processes.  Requires exceptional aptitude using numbers.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office software including Excel and Word is a must.

 

EXPERIENCE, SKILL, AND KNOWLEDGE:

 

Minimum of five years aircraft manufacturing/estimating experience with proven track records and familiarity with trouble shooting, scheduling, safety practices, and labor relations.
