Facilities Manager -- Manufacturing

Our client, a producer of specialty metal products for aerospace applications, is searching for an experienced FACILITIES MANAGER to provide leadership to facility maintenance, equipment reliability and uptime, and development of strategic maintenance efforts for the plant. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with hydraulics, electrical and mechanical systems.  An ability to speak Spanish would be preferred.  The facility is located in Southern California (east of Los Angeles), and its parent plans to significantly grow the plant's production volume. This high visibility role is ideal for someone who achieves results and has a desire to progress in an organization.

 

The position carries the following responsibilities:
Oversee all facility maintenance, equipment reliability and uptime, and development of strategic maintenance efforts for the plant
Overall supervision of maintenance department, management and capital investment projects
Supervise personnel (maintenance manager, supervisor and 14 hourly employees) to perform at appropriate levels of expertise
Ensure that maintenance department objectives are met including project cost, quality and safety factors
Develop and recommend long-term strategy and plans to meet the organization's equipment needs
Prepare, manage and forecast department budgets

 

The position has the following requirements:
Maintenance experience in heavy equipment environment with hydraulics, electrical and mechanical systems
Experience in the use of preventative, predictive and basic equipment care practices
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing
Supervisory experience ? accustomed to interviewing, hiring, and disciplining employees
Strong understanding and experience in Facilities Management including scheduling, planning, prioritizing, cost estimating, inspection, contracting, quality control, safety, and environmental requirements
Knowledge of energy conservation measures and application of control systems and building maintenance to reduce energy consumption
Ability to speak Spanish preferred
