Under minimal supervision this position provides region-wide, advanced technical and consulting services for customers and Pitney Bowes Field Implementation Specialists, as required. The Software Engineer is the strongest technical resource in the region. The incumbent will rely on a thorough understanding of products and applications to design and implement thorough solutions. The position provides consulting services throughout the lifecycle of programs and projects to both, external and internal customers, such as but not limited to project management, consulting, application feasibility studies, technical presentations, development and implementation of technical solutions and training.
Dimensions of Position:
? Deploys complex systems solutions in support of the successful completion of implementations, satisfied customers and increased sales volume.
? Responsible for sales and technical support on all systems products. This includes, but is not limited to consultative fact-finding and discovery to facilitate a proposed solution.
? Installs, integrates, configures and customizes Pitney Bowes systems products to satisfy requirements outlined in the Statement of Work (SOW).
? Performs communication/network interfacing to customer host systems.
? Establishes and maintains professional relationships with customers by responding promptly to requests and delivering thorough, effective solutions.
? Prepares budgetary quotes for custom software solutions to include project management, training, and deployment services costs and timelines.
? The incumbent must maintain leading-edge knowledge in the discipline along with complete knowledge of Pitney Bowes systems products and possess the skills to apply the knowledge to specific customer applications.

? Bachelor of Science in Business, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
? Minimum of two years experience with Microsoft networks, PC operating systems, software and hardwaretroubleshooting techniques, software configuration, communications devices and peripherals.
? Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Visual Basic, Visual FoxPro, and SQL. Proven skills indata manipulation; specializing in import, export, database conversion and parsing techniques are highly desirable.
? Previous experience with coding, inscripting and progamming
? One to two years experience with HTML, XML, Java, VBScript and SQL Server concepts preferred.
? One to two years experience with reporting tools such as Crystal Reports and Data Dynamic Active Reports perferred.
? Experience in creating engineering requirement and specification documents including white papers, application design agreements, and statements of work.
? Experience in timely responses to RFP and RFI documents.
? Experience in creating and delivering training curriculums across a diverse audience.
? Proven leadership, communication, and writing skills coupled with strong interpersonal, and relationship management required.
? Understanding of logistics and transportation industry is a plus.
? Mailing industry knowledge and mail automation is a plus.
? Material handling and document inserting experience a plus.
? The incumbent may travel to and from customer sites on a daily basis. He/she will respond to customers on an as-needed basis.
? The incumbent may travel to Home Office, Aberdeen Woods and other facilities throughout the country as required.
Certification Preferrences:
CompTIA A+, iNet+, or Microsoft MCSE
Pitney Bowes Certified Postal Consultant (CPC) a plus
