Flavor Manufacturing Technician

McCormick & Co., Inc., a world leader in the spice, flavor & seasonings industry, is seeking full time Flavor Manufacturing Technicians (3rd shift) in its Flavor Manufacturing Center located in Hunt Valley, MD. This position exists to produce and package a variety of products as well as assist with other duties to support the manufacturing operation of the flavorings department. Incumbent will set up, operate, and clean a variety of processing, filling, and packaging equipment; mix, blend, process various raw materials following set procedures; and complete all necessary paperwork neatly and accurately; and follow all safety, work, and GMP rules.

Qualifications for the position include High School Diploma or equivalency required. One year of production experience involving mixing/blending/processing or related experience required. Experience in a computer-based system - SAP experience preferred. Must be able to use logical thinking in performing multiple duties, often working on different projects at the same time; must be able to memorize various policies and procedures; must know when to go to higher level for a decision. Must be able to read and interpret various formula sheets, printed/written materials, and computer screens; must be able to distinguish colors; must be able to perform basic math functions; must be able to write legibly. Must be able to lift 100lb containers, lift and carry pails of liquids (50lbs), hand roll 500lb drums. Must be able to climb ladders/stairs and bend/stoop to work around equipment. Must be able to operate hand tools, high-pressure water hoses, and enter information onto a computer (touch-screen/keyboard). Must be able to work full shift plus daily overtime (often on short notice) and on weekends, plus have flexibility to work other shifts or longer shifts (10-12 hours) with notice. Must be able to work well and communicate effectively with all levels of employees. Candidate must have (or be able to obtain) fork truck license. Ability to wear a fitted respirator required. Basic knowledge of chemistry preferred.

 

Starting rate for Flavor Manufacturing Technicians: $12.73/hour plus 10% shift differential for 3rd shift.  Interested candidates will need to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.
