Flexo Press Operator

Summary



 

Century Box, a leading U.S. manufacturer of custom-designed paperboard packaging, located in Methuen, MA, is seeking highly motivated, responsible pressmen running capable of running an 8-color UV flexographic press.  We are looking for enthusiastic and results-oriented press operators to perform make-readies and print multi color work. Die-cutting and plate-mounting a plus.  Other responsibilities include performing routine machine maintenance, monitoring printed material throughout print runs, and executing various quality assurance tasks.  Must be able to work both independently and on a team.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

1.  Ability to read and comprehend the schedule to determine the sequence of production.

2.  Ability to read and interpret job order specification sheet to determine needs for printing.

3.  Ability to make ready and set up the printing press in accordance to job order specification.

4.  Ability to verify printed material to meet job requirements

5.  Run production to optimize throughput

6.  Perform and document quality audits of production to insure quality, adjust press as necessary

7.  Complete paper work for production tracking

8.  Ability to diagnose mechanical press issues

9.  Ability to direct and train crew

10. Perform preventive maintenance as needed

11. Proper use of chemicals and ability to read and comprehend MSDS

 

 

Requirements:
5-7 years experience in printing industry-running presses. Experience with multi-color presses a plus.  Must have knowledge of 4-color process printing. Must have a good eye for color to ensure accurate color and registration while preparing presses.  Must be able to trouble shoot problems and perform routine machine maintenance. Excellent communication skills are a must. The individual must be capable of operating without direct supervision. Must have High school diploma or equivalent.
