Flexographic Printing Press Operator/Changeover

WS Packaging Group is an industry leader with over forty years of experience in printing and flexible packaging for retail, commercial, and industrial markets.

 

We are currently seeking a flexographic printing press operator or changeover for our Mason, OH facility.


 

The successful candidate(s) will possess:

*Top-notch flexo skills on complex jobs

*Experience running a flexographic 10-12-color label press

*Ability to operate with minimal scrap

*Above average productivity

Press Operator duties include:

? Advises Press Feeder when new job order is required.
? Checks job order/Q.C. folder against all materials supplied to ensure correct run.
? Checks proofs for match.
? Advises Press Feeder, Customer Service or Plate Department if corrections are needed.
? Requests proper inks from Press Feeder and Verifies color matches.
? Sets up press to run, making adjustments and calibrations needed for each run.
? Sets up all feeds to presses.
? Checks for proper unwind.
? Obtains supervisor?s approval to commence run.
? Keeps all plates in register and colors consistent, and monitors all operations during press run time.
? Monitors time and performance standards, waste and spoilage during run mode, make adjustments as needed.
? Communicates necessary information to next shift on all incomplete jobs, problems, etc., when shift change.
? Cleans press and press area, assists press feeder in change-overs, and performs general preventive maintenance on press.
? Interacts with Q.C. Department to ensure all quality standards are being met.
? Enter information into computer system.
? Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

 

Press Changeover duties include:


? Respond to all Blue press lights for press changeover
? Obtain all raw materials for item or job changeover
? Perform press changeover following the approved changeover procedure
? Must be available for any press operator performing press changeover or needing raw materials
? Running a press when an operator is absent
? Running a press through lunches for efficiencies

 

 

Responsibilities include:

 

?Must be able to run a complex high-speed machine to close tolerances while controlling numerous variables which could affect product quality.
?Knowledge of Flexographic printing.
?Knowledge of presses such as Webtrons, Comcos, Mark Andys, and Rotos.
?Good Attitude.
?Ability to work with different personalities/people.
?Good Attendance.
?High School Diploma/G.E.D. required.

Hours: Second Shift or Third Shift
