Footwear Designer

The Rockport Company, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Reebok International, Ltd has an immediate opening for a Women's Footwear Designer. This is a mid to senior level position responsible for providing product conceptualization and illustration of product consistent with overall product strategy. Must be capable of styling the entire shoe, plus technically address lasts, patterns, and molds. Must be able to complete concept drawings, develop Spec materials into products,and design to timelines. Must be able to work with product engineering to ensure product meets market needs. Design function / technology into product. Manage design time to accomplish assigned product briefs and pursue new product opportunities beyond product briefs (20% of design time). Must keep abreast of market trends / consumer needs. Responsible for appropriate aesthetics. Must be able to apply new colors to product, design to cost parameter and specify materials into product.

Job Requirements:
Ability to style the entire shoe essential. Ability to technically address lasts, patterns, and molds at a general level. Ability to take design from 2D to 3D model to finished product for specific category. High level of sketching ability and technical package creation. General understanding of materials related to footwear design. Three plus years of footwear design experience required. Two or more years of international work experience and international trend/work exposure a plus. Available for Far East travel. Fashion/casual background. High level of communication/presentation skills. Must have Illustrator and PhotoShop knowledge and be self-motivated and a team player.
