IDS Product Support Lead

PRODUCT SUPPORT/MISSION SUPPORT:



RTSC provides Product Support and Mission Support ensuring our customers have the right products, systems and capabilities whenever and wherever they need them. Our Product Support organization ensures that we have a comprehensive and integrated approach for the total life cycle of all Raytheon products, which requires close coordination with all Raytheon businesses. Our Product Support and Mission Support organizations are closely aligned with Mission Support engaged throughout the total life cycle delivering operational readiness, allowing customers to meet their missions.





POSITION DESCRIPTION:



The IDS Lead for Product Support will report directly to the Vice-President General Manager for the Product Support Business Area. He/she will be responsible for product support to Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems (IDS).





He/she will have full management and profit and loss responsibility for the business which is projected to be approximately $185 million in sales. Key responsibilities will include program execution, performance improvement and top line growth. This is a highly visible position and involves a strong blend of people management and leadership, customer interface and support, and financial and operations management. While the primary focus of this position will be internal product support, this leader will be expected to contribute to RTSC?s Mission Support strategies. Key short-term objectives will include:


- Foster senior level relationships with IDS leaders and directly support the development and furtherance of the IDS product support business
- Develop common program roadmaps for product support market areas
- Develop and maintain a Product Support "capabilities" linecard, socialize to IDS Business Areas and contribute to their success
- Contribute to a "Technology Insertion" program for critical product support areas
- Achieve financial objectives
- Ensure continued program execution excellence
- Conduct regular program & EAC Reviews, fostering strong corporate governance over our work

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:


- Knowledge of product support and logistics capabilities and strategies
- Proven leadership experience managing a large diverse workforce in remote and geographically dispersed locations.
- A keen sense of customer expectations and the ability to meet and exceed those expectations.
- Strong background in the management of technically complex programs (cost, schedule, and technical performance), including the application of earned value management techniques
- Direct Profit and Loss management experience and a strong skill set in the planning, negotiating and closing of multi-million dollar contracts.
- The ability to distinguish, through experience and professional insight, good business opportunities from poor ones
- Experience working with Government Agencies and the Department of Defense
- The ability to make sound decisions in stressful business situations based upon the known variables and past experience.
- An insatiable desire to build relationships that will sustain the flow of business and maintain solid customer support.
- The ability to operate independently but still retain the larger company focus.

* At least 14 years of direct Product Support experience



DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:



* Experience with IDS Business Areas such as, Future Naval Capability, Missle Defense, Integrated Air Defense, Joint Battlespace Integration and Maritime Mission Systems.
* Familiarity with new logistics tools and techniques
* Experience building and/or significantly strengthening a company, as well as experience significantly improving profitability.
* Able to function in a fast-paced environment with a premium placed on creativity and innovation.
* Familiarity with Raytheon businesses, policies, and practices.

* Senior level military experience or equivalent corporate business experience Working knowledge of Six Sigma.
* Bright, creative and charismatic.
* An ambitious and highly motivated person who can get started and keep the "ball rolling" with fresh ideas and new opportunities for the company.
* Secret (or higher level) security clearance

EDUCATION:



* A Bachelor's degree is required. An advanced degree in Business Management or Engineering is highly preferred.
