Swift has an immediate opening for an Industrial Safety Manager at our Grand Island, Nebraska, Plant

 

 

  Principal Responsibilities: 

?  Oversee & Manage Health Services & Directly Manage the Safety Dept. ( Behavior Analysis, Crisis Management, Education & development of Management Team).  Track KPI?s to ensure compliance at all levels.

?  Conduct performance reviews for Subordinates.

?  Manage Departmental budget & Payroll responsibilities.

?  Manage external regulatory compliance; OSHA, EPA, Fire Dept., State Health Insurance/Loss Control, and Corporate.

?  Ensure external communication & Manage the Workers Compensation Process.

?  (Co-Chair) Facility Safety Steering Committee, and Perform / conduct training pertaining to incident Investigations.

?  Consult with training Manager re: Safety related elements, and conduct Safety/Health training as identified.

?  Manage Safety compliance, assist & guide in grievance process pertaining to Safety related issues.

?  Actively participate in the STOP program at all levels, and New Safety Technology. Lead the Hazard evaluation & control effort of the facility

?  Management communication pertaining to Safety, Health, Environment & Emergency Response, as well as leading the effort of an effective EAP (Emergency Action Plan), and Trend Analysis.

?  Participate in PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) auditing & development of new requirements as well as working with vendors on the forefront of future PPE & designs and technology, and as well as assisting with new process reviews & development.

?  Audit, track and post findings of 14 elements to ensure facility participation and compliance.

?  Review & update of all pertaining standards.

?  Ensure site security in emergency situations.

 

 

Requirements:

?  BS Safety & Health or related field or a minimum of five years experience.

?  Minimum 1-2 years Management experience.

 

Working Conditions:

?  Combination of office setting as well as production & maintenance setting.

?  Generally work 9-10 hour days, 5-6 days a week, and will be expected to be on call 24 hours a day seven days a week.
