We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Commodities Specialist (Packaging Focus) to join our operations.

In this position, the successful candidate will:
oIdentify and evaluate suppliers globally to assure quality, pricing and supply to all sites involved.
oResponsible for maintaining supplier performance along with Site Purchasing Coordinators
oNegotiate international and domestic contracts.
oInitiation of consignment and safety stock programs
oInitiate multi year cost savings programs, recognizing how material and manufacturing cots affect total pricing.
oCapture and report monthly cost savings programs.
oWork with financial analysts to assure all cost reduction programs are compliant with and take into account all aspects of internal and external costs.
oResponsible for any packaging and materials negotiations and programs associated with that commodity.

This key position requires:
oB.S. degree in Supply management, Business, or Operations Management of related field.
oMinimum 5 years experience in an FDA controlled purchasing or manufacturing environment, including understanding of GMP, EPA and ISO requirements in purchasing.
oMinimum 2 years specific experience in electronics purchasing.
oMinimum 2 years ERP systems experience.
oAuditing experience.
oUnderstand how global economies affect total costs, ability to speak to emerging trends, identify "problem" areas.
oProven cost reduction program experience, can talk to specifics on how, what, when and where.
oUnderstanding of a dynamic environment, ability to work with constant change and be self directed.
oUnderstanding of lean manufacturing, pull systems, and integrate ways to decrease inventory from a purchasing perspective.
oUnderstanding of general finance and make/buy analysis.
oAbility to analyze all costs associated with purchasing, transportation, tariffs, duties, materials costs, and SG & A.
oUnderstanding of total supplier management including: GMP, rationalization, quality parameters, and on-time delivery.
oUnderstanding of the legalities of ethical purchasing behaviors and the ability to work with Legal on assuring those aspects.
oAbility to interact with upper management and within a team environment.
oAbility to read and interpret blueprints.
oProficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint. Understanding of Oracle functionality.
oStrong attention to detail.
oAbility to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
oAbility to travel between 20%-30%. Foreign language skills a plus.
