We currently have a Lab Support Technician career opportunity at our Sartell, MN location.

 

POSITION PURPOSE: Provides technical support to Optifacts customers relating to the optical laboratory computer operating system and lab equipment; provides support to Optifacts team members through on-site installations; provides customer phone support troubleshooting and resolving current laboratory operating systems issues.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Attend deployments as needed installing software and hardware on-site in the conversion process for ELOA labs; assist with training ELOA labs during the conversion process.Update databases for future and current Optifacts customers.Provide customer phone support to Optifacts customers troubleshooting and resolving customer  issues relating to prism; lenses; calculation issues; lab equipment; pricing; setting up new printers; new progressives ?Type Code?; and all other customer issues by using lab knowledge and background.Load lens information into Optifacts customer?s database (1n_rec, sku, and lens_types).Update database with color codes, material codes, and removing old data.Resolve blank selection issues.Resolve calc issues: lens thickness, power and prism.Set up and resolve machine interface issues.Create new logins on customer sitesAssist adding programs or making program changes on customer sites.Resolve printing issues: printer routing and stuck spooler.Setup and resolve tray track issues.At times will act as back up for the switchboard and receptionist.Areas of responsibility may at times be expanded to cover other functions due to the nature of the business. Performs other duties as assigned by management.

 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:Two years training or related experience required.Customer Support skills and good phone etiquette.Strong networking and hardware knowledge; Unix knowledge; programming syntax.Knowledge of Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint)Ability to install, maintain and diagnose software/hardware.Knowledge of optics and the optical lab preferred.Ability to work well with others.Ability to work well with minimal supervision.Excellent oral and written skills.Positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
