GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Quality Manager, the Lead Quality Associate is the ?hands on? part of the team, occupying a direct labor position while assisting in the coordination of work flow and leading by example.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must be able to competently perform all responsibilities of a Quality Associate II
- Coordinate/review supplier quality data to insure conformance with specifications
- Inspection of incoming raw material
- Provide quality related training/coaching to personnel
- Work with production to efficiently prioritize team efforts
- Assure quality and shipments are met and data integrity requirements are accomplished
- Maintain quality assurance standards to obtain optimum productivity, consistent quality of product, and meet customer's specifications
- Functions as the ?Go-To? person for the area and liaison to management
- Communicate any procedural changes/quality issues
- Lead team of safe work practices, reporting exceptions when necessary
- Lead team of housekeeping/environmental compliance
- Provide input for annual employee reviews and disciplinary actions
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- Requires high school diploma or GED equivalency
- 2 years experience as Quality Associate II or 5 years experience in a Quality related manufacturing role
- Must be able to read/comprehend instructions in English, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and product recipes/material identifications
- Must have mathematical skill to add, subtract, multiply, divide and the ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume and distance
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English one-on-one and in small group situations.
- Ability to reason and address problems
- May require obtainment of Fork Lift Operator's License
- Must have manual dexterity sufficient to operate a wide variety of small hand tools, scales, spatula, barrel cart, hand trucks, fork lift, utility knife, mixer/blender machinery and computer equipment
- Requires knowledge and ability to operate/run multiple processes including mixer/mill machinery and run multiple batches
- Strong working knowledge of chemical and/or color ingredients and mixing processes
- Must possess leadership qualities

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk and/or hear
- Occasionally required to sit
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds and occasionally handle up to 250 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Work is inside and the typical noise level is loud
- Requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area
