Lean Champion

The Lean Champion facilitates the continued development of a Lean manufacturing organization. This individual directs, coordinates, and actively participates in Value Stream and continuous process improvement. Responsibilities include assessing the current business activities across all functional areas of the company to prioritize training of individuals to deploy the following principals and processes: 5S, Point Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping. The Lean Champion shares IDEX Best Practices, communicates initiatives, develops, implements, and administers Lean practices to reduce costs and cycle time and to improve overall quality. This individual partners with all team members, serves as the liaison for Value Streams from source to customer, handles bottlenecks, leads rapid process improvement efforts, and trains employees. In addition, the Lean Champion facilitates supply chain integration into Value Streams, interfaces with the entire business chain as needed, and may also participate in business planning sessions.

Qualified candidates will have a B.S. degree in manufacturing, business, engineering, or a technical discipline — or equivalent work experience. The candidate should have experience in successfully implementing continuous improvement principles. Solid knowledge and application of Lean, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, and Kaizen is required as is an ability to communicate well both verbally and in written form. Strong project management skills, customer advocacy skills, and change management experience are desired. Two years of production experience, the ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds, and visual acuity are required.
