Lean Coordinator-Aerospace and Industrial Commercial

Position Summary:   The Lean Coordinator will facilitate the implementation of lean manufacturing prinicples.  This includes conducting lean manufacturing improvement workshops with hourly and salaried associates.  The position will have responsibility to implement lean training programs and facilitate organizational learning.  The Coordinator will also facilitate lean manufacturing initiatives including, 5S, set-up reduction, workplace organization, standardized work process/work flow improvements, Just-in-Time principles, cellular production processes, visual management, Poka-Yoke methods, Value Stream Mapping and Kanbans.



 

Tools and Lean Controls Required:

 

Assist in the implementation of process controls, manufacturing flow studies, capability and control charts, work instructions, Value Stream Mapping, Poka-Yoke, Kanban.  Knowledge and familiarity with computer systems, including manufacturing/quality software tools, like MS Project, Excel, and Word.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

? Support, develop, and implement Lean Manufacturing processes to achieve Flight Plan initiatives though gains in productivity and improvement in quality performance.

? Conduct product sampling and trails for new and/or revised Lean Manufacturing processes to assure proper performance and approval before production release.

? Facilitate, plan, schedule lean events, and train others to become lean champions.

? Work with other Lean Coordinators to promote Lean Enterprise principles within Kirkhill Elastomers.

? Provide management with project status updates, feedback, and appropriate reporting on key process-focused objectives.

? Provide project technical assistance and mentoring on an as-requested basis.

? Plan, support, and provide training to others in the Lean manufacturing methodology.

 



Professional Requirements:

 

Requires undergraduate degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or relevant from an accredited college or university; and 2 to 4 years of related experience in implementing lean manufacturing techniques.

? Excellent written and oral communication skills

? Bilingual in English/Spanish would be a plus.

? Must be highly effective in a fast-paced job shop atmosphere.

? Adapts easily to changing priorities.

? A working knowledge of control plans, flow charts, DOE, Theory of Constraints, Continuous Improvement and other Lean tools. 

? Green or Black Belt a major plus.
