Lean Director

  Triumph Actuation Systems - Bloomfield designs, manufacturers and repairs complex hydraulic, hydro mechanical and mechanical aircraft components and systems, such as nose wheen steering motors, helicopter blade lag dampers, mechanical hold-open rods, coupling and latching devices, as well as mechanical and electro mechanical actuation products.  Reporting to the President, we are seeking a Lean Director who will be a key contributor in support of lean initiatives within our organization. 

 

Job Summary:    Lead the strategic planning and deployment of Lean knowledge, tools and techniques to achieve reduction in cycle time, rework and waste.  Provides consultation to manufacturing sites in principles of lean enterprise, lean manufacturing and implementation planning and implementation.  Drive Lean principles with energy and passion into the organization ? champion for change.



Major Accountabilities:

1.  Support and facilitate ongoing growth and cost reduction through lean initiatives.

2.  Serves as consulting and teaching resource while assisting with identification of improvement opportunities.

3.  Acts as a partner with management in the development and deployment of strategic implementation plan and problem solving and scheduling initiatives.

4.  Responsible for mentoring and instructing clients in the facilitation and leading of kaizen events to include but not limited to, Lean Enterprise Assessment, Office and Shop Floor Kaizen, 3P, Distribution Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping and Total Productive Maintenance.

5.  Suggests new standard operating procedures to maintain achieved improvements.

6.  Coordinates and conducts training in Lean principles as requested.

7.  Participates in the development and utilization of new and standardized training materials as required within the corporate Lean Group.

Physical Limitations: Work may require sight, bending, sitting, standing, climbing and walking. The position requires mathematical ability and excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Occasional travel may be required.

 

Minimum Education Required: BA/BS Degree and certification and or leader in Value Stream Mapping, Office and Shop Floor Kaizen, Distribution Kaizen, Total Productive Maintenance, Production Preparation Process (?3P?) and Lean Enterprise Assessment, basic knowledge of six sigma is desirable.

 

Minimum Years of Experience Required: Minimum of five (5) years of Lean Consulting experience.  Seven (7) years working within a Lean operating system.
