Lean Manufacturing Manager
Global Supply Chain Division

Princeton, NJ

Due to growing demands in our Global Supply Chain Division, we are currently seeking a Lean Manufacturing Manager to work with the site and regional leadership to implement Lean principles at our main North American Manufacturing Site.

Responsibilities: Perform facility training in Lean manufacturing tools, including the use of Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen events, 5S, set up-reduction, Kanbam, etc. Prepare Value Stream Map and identify critical areas of improvement. Establish improvement goals and objectives aligned with the site capability development plan. Apply a Train the Trainer approach to progressively develop managers, supervisors and cell/team leader to conduct independent Lean initiatives and to manage permanent improvement sub-teams. Audit progress using a Lean Maturity Model. Create and document a site annual “Lean Improvement Plan”. Work closely with the SC Excellence Team to select training and consulting partners, as well as to define Firmenich standards.
Requirements: Strong project management skills, minimum of 7-10 years experience. 5-7 years of proven track record of implementing business and operational improvement supported by Lean manufacturing techniques. Facilitation/training experiences. Vast experience of managing project with all levels of mgmt (cross-functionally), as well as networking with outside vendors/suppliers. BA/BS, preferably in Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or technical-related field. Minimum of 10 to 15 years experience within the operation of a global company (food, chemical industry, etc.). Proven track record of a successful application of Lean Initiatives that implanted key concepts and standard methodologies into the company's operational environment. Successful culture shift. Formal certification in TPS, Lean or Six Sigma. Formal training of Best Practices across multiple companies and manufacturing environments through employment, benchmarking, or engagement with external organizations such as APICS or AME (Association for Manufacturing Excellence). Must be familiar with Mistake Proofing, Total Productive Maintenance and Cellular Manufacturing. ERP (SAP preferred). Microsoft suite applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Must be advanced in Excel (pivot tables & graphs). Travel time: 20-25%.
