JOB TITLE:  Lean Workshop Leader

 

DEPARTMENT: LPO

 

REPORTS TO:  Jason Hall

 

SCHEDULE: Monday ? Thursday 5:45am ? 4:15pm

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

To provide focus for plant wide improvement through training, workshop facilitation, project management and promotion of Lean Principles.

 

  Work closely with Production, Manufacturing Engineering and Materials to:

? Develop improvement plans for the plant.

? Understand and document current flow of information and material.

? Define future state flow of information and material.

? Develop targeted improvement plan using projects, RIP?s and daily Kaizen activities to achieve future state.

  Initiate, coordinate and manage improvement projects.

? Identify, prioritize and manage improvement projects.

? Coordinate and execute actions to complete projects.

? Documented and communicated results of projects to the plant.

  Plan, execute and follow-up RIP?s and kaizen activities in alignment with value stream strategy.

? Use lean improvement tools to understand current process, identify opportunities, set objectives and plan workshops.

? Provide targeted education, leadership, and guidance throughout the workshop.

? Work with area management to ensure successful follow up to workshops.

  Train, educate and mentor team members in the Genie Production System including the RIP Process, the Genie Distribution System and the Production Preparation Process (3P).

? Provide targeted training.

? Provide ongoing and refresher training.

Develop thorough understanding of lean production, kaizen methodology and quality systems.

? Spread that knowledge throughout the organization.

? Initiate continuous learning in the areas of Lean Production and Change Management.

? Deliver information to internal and external sources on an ongoing basis.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

? Requires a Bachelor?s degree in Engineering, Business or related field.  Equivalent experience in a supervisory or management role may be substituted for degree.

? Excellent oral and written communication skills needed. 

? Previous experience in project management and implementing lean and quality principles preferred.

? Strong and proven skill in team facilitation
