BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT
Through the use of lower level supervisors, oversees and directs production personnel in the Assembly Department with the intent of achieving defined goals. Ensures company product is made in a safe, top quality, and cost effective manner utilizing company values of customer enthusiasm, trust and respect for all individuals, teamwork and continuous improvement. Develops plans to instill improvements in productivity and efficiency.

GENERAL DUTIES
' Confers with Plant Manager, Operations Manager, and other management leaders to establish production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls, and to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
' Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
' Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
' Promotes a supportive working environment for all employees and embraces an open door policy.
' Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
' Completes other projects and duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field preferred. Minimum five years of progressively responsible management and leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be proactive with goal setting & attainment, employee relations, quality control, safety compliance, and process improvement, and will possess a solid knowledge of MRP, the DuPont STOP program, and lean manufacturing and quality assurance techniques, including 5S, Six Sigma, and Root Cause Analysis. Strong production scheduling skills, well-developed communication skills, and the proven track record to make decisions with solid judgment and initiative. Must be PC proficient with a solid knowledge of MS Office software, groupware programs and web-based applications. Must be willing to work more than 40 hours per week as necessary to complete the job.
