MATERIAL HANDLER I

Tyco Electronics is the world's largest supplier of passive electronic components and a major producer of active components. Our plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina, is looking for talented and motivated professionals to join our team in the following positions:

Material Handlers for the following shifts:
-1st shift
-3rd shift
-Weekend shift (7am to 7pm Saturday, Sunday, and Monday)

Essential Functions:
-Ability to read and understand a factory order packet to include a Bill of Material and Packaging Specifications
-Knowledge of HP systems
-Operate assigned dock equipment (pallet jack, cardboard compactor, etc.)
-Check all assigned manufacturing equipment for component needs.
-Check all manufacturing equipment for packaging needs.
-Ordering identified packaging from offsite component warehouse via pick, or via fax ban sheet for immediate use in the manufacturing area or for reserve.
-Check manufacturing area for scrap.
-Check and remove cardboard and interleafing paper from the manufacturing area.
-Transport materials to and from offsite warehouse via company work vehicle.
-Responsible for stock status data entry.

Minimum Requirements:
-High School diploma or equivalent
-Manufacturing work experience including inventory responsibilities.
-Basic computer skills. Ability to perform data entry and operate factory computer system for inventory control.
-Experience with operation of fork lift and pallet jack.
