MGR COMMODITY

The Finished Goods Commodity Manager operates as a front line member of the Global Procurement group. They are directly responsible for managing the Finished Goods commodity category Tyco Healthcare North America. A team of six Senior Buyers report direct to this position.

The role involves recognizing dynamic customer needs; identifying & evaluating global sourcing options; analyzing data & factors affecting pricing to determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability and service; effective negotiation, contracting & purchasing for Finished Goods.

Accountable for $140 million spend and 120 suppliers; the Finished Goods Commodity Manager will drive a clear supply chain strategy and best practice sourcing methodologies for supplier selection and evaluation. Spend is to be strategically leveraged with suppliers to maximise negotiations for Tyco Healthcare in terms of supplier capability, service, quality and cost.

Clear communication is to be maintained with interdependent groups and divisions including the EMEA Finished Goods Commodity Team, and International Procurement Offices.


Additional responsibilities include:

- Supporting new product development projects to specific time-lines/budgets.

- Managing the existing supplier base through business reviews and through utilizing supplier performance scorecards, with the overall goal of nurturing key relationships to achieve financial budgets, reduce lead-times, maintain quality and execute joint inventory cost reductions.

- The management of supply contracts and non-disclosure agreements for all strategic suppliers. This includes working cross functionally to develop quality plans, dual sources and disaster recovery initiatives.

- Lead ongoing implementation and adherence to Procurement SOPs and regulatory documentation. Become a key contact for site audits for Finished Goods: FDA, TUV & Sarbanes Oxley.

- Take a key role in the implementation of a new ERP system.

- Take a lead role on a NPD / product development process committee.


Requirements:

BS in Business, Engineering or Science. MBA preferred. Experience with 6 Sigma.
Must have 5-7 years purchasing experience; management level experience preferred.
Experience with NPD and outsourcing a plus.
Must be able to demonstrate skills in interpersonal communication, leadership, negotiations and contract formulation.
Proficient using Microsoft Office, Excel & PowerPoint
Must be a self starter, proactive.
