MOLD MAKER - Plastic Injection Molding

The Tech Group, a West Pharmaceutical Services Company, is a world-renowned plastics manufacturer, engineering and design organization with a reputation for innovation and superior customer service.  We are currently seeking a tenured Mold Maker to join our medical device team in Tempe, AZ.  Only qualified candidates will be considered.

 

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for a limited to full scope of tool construction based on the grade of the position. Works with and exhibits an understanding of detailed 3D plastic parts design and engineering mold design. Constructs and/or modifies molds and mold components utilizing metal-working machinery.  Adheres to The Tech Group standards for tool manufacture, which translates to working to very high quality standards efficiently and maintaining the customer?s requirements for the project. Completes assigned tasks on time and on budget

 

? Modifies and/or constructs molds and mold components utilizing both manual and CNC driven machinery and metal working machinery.

? Understands form fit and function in mold construction.

? Uses precision measuring instruments in the fabrication and verification of machining in various tooling metals and electrode carbon.

? Executes on machining only after layout or other forms of verification ? helps assure correctness.

? Computes needed dimensions relative to machining as required.

? Performs extremely close-tolerance machining working from complex detailed blueprints, and data bases from internal mold design engineering.

? All interactions, work flow, productivity levels and quality standards are implemented with a ?Customer Service? approach to both the internal and external customers

 

High school graduate or equivalent, some college preferred.  Must have extensive knowledge of plastic injection mold making, mold-manufacturing industry.  Must have excellent knowledge of and/or experience in blueprint reading.  Must have basic computer skills and dimensioning and tolerance practices.   Minimum 10 or more years experience in a mold shop environment.  Supervisory experience preferred.  Well schooled in the use of hand tools associated with machining metals.  Must be able to work within a fast paced, continually improving/changing environment, under time pressures.  Must comply with company policies and procedures including the company notification and attendance policies.  Must be able to read, write and speak English to clearly collaborate with teammates and decipher written guidance, labels and enter data on forms and records.
