Machine Shop Manager

Position Overview:

Reports to Manufacturing Manager, has direct responsibility for day-to-day operation of Machine Shops.  Responsible for scheduling labor and materials through the machining centers in the most efficient and cost effective manner possible.  Refine/further develop existing QC practices with an emphasis on repeatable execution.  Work with Master Scheduler to reduce lead-times and improve shop workflow.  Develop Preventative maintenance and calibration programs.  Refine shop floor safety programs with focus on behavioral change.  Must demonstrate the ability to drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the machine shops operations.

 

Duties:Coordinate and manage daily functions of Proto-type and Production CNC Machine ShopsDirect daily activity of 10-20 MachinistsDevelop production schedule and manufacturing efficienciesDevelop Quality Systems suitable for close tolerance one off?s and production runsCoordinate outsourcing for special materials treatments and or finishes, etc.Create material take-offs from customer or internally developed prints.Provide assistance with quotations and part routings as neededProvide Customer Service as required

 

Requirements:Minimum 5 years Machine Shop Supervisor in a production environmentMinimum 2 year degree or combination of education and experienceProficient use of software: Solid-Works, ACAD, MasterCam, MS Office, Global Shop
