Machinist IV - Medical Devices

Job Description: General Summary: The Machinist Specialist will support the tooling development effort and Manufacturing line.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Works on assignments that are complex in nature where considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations.*
Normally receives no instruction on routine work, general instruction on new assignments.*
Works from blueprints, process sheets, and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal and plastic to precision dimensions.*
Checks and inspects machining operations against specified tolerances.*
Determine methods and procedures on new assignments.*
Has working knowledge of Cad/Cam software.*
May provide guidance to other nonexempt personnel.
Manage and maintain work space and equipment.Maintains fabrication records in compliance with GMP procedures.*

Position Qualifications:

The Experimental Machinist requires an AA degree or equivalent work experience in a machine shop. Minimum 10-15 years experience. A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of higher mathematics involved in the application of engineering principles and the performance of related operations, and completion of a formal apprenticeship program is desirable.
