Maintenance Planner/Scheduler

Responsible for reviewing, estimating and identifying parts, resources and time required for maintenance work requests. Assures change control requirements are approved prior to scheduling. Define weekly maintenance work schedule and get "buy-in" from manufacturing maintenance coordinator.


1) Convert maintenance work requests to "Ready to Schedule" in the JD Edwards One-World (JDE) system as needed.

2) Prepare planned job packages based on Manufacturing and Maintenance priorities including Change Control documentation approval prior to scheduling.

3) Prepare and have approved change control documentation for Preventative and predictive maintenance as needed. Check to make sure initiator has completed the required change control documentation for all other maintenance.

4) Assure Work Request code and status accuracy.

5) Daily update equipment history files and other appropriate feedback in JDE.

6) Ensuring the accuracy of the information on the new Work Requests.

7) Convert the new Work Request to a planned Work Order in JDE.

8) Deciding the level of planning applied to the Work Order.

9) Scoping the job and recording the decisions on the Job Planning Checklist as needed.

10) Estimating the labor hours needed to perform the work for each Work Order.

11) Determining parts and material requirements for each Work Order and provide information to store room for work order preparation.

12) Providing a cost estimate to include labor, materials and contractor services.

13) Initiating pick lists for Storeroom parts and materials.

14) Entering Purchase Requisitions for direct purchase of outside parts and materials if needed.

15) Collecting the information needed for the written job plan.

16) Determining the actual sequence of work (i.e., job steps).

17) Identifying permits as needed.




Assembling the complete and final "Job Package" in electronic or hard copy form.


18) Communicating the information in the Job Package to the technicians.

19) Ensuring that all information needed to support the planning process is complete, accurate and readily available to everyone.

20) Shared responsibility with Manufacturing Maintenance Coordinator to define Weekly Schedules, and Shutdown Schedules.

21) Preparing a preliminary draft of the Weekly Work Order Schedule.

22) Maintaining an accurate, up-to-date backlog status to support the scheduling process.

23) Acts as backup storeroom attendant as needed.

24) Shared responsibility with the Maintenance Supervisor and Reliability Engineer to define and maintain an effective Master Maintenance Schedule (PM/PdM activities).

Qualifications
1) Excellent planning and organizational skills required


2) Basic math skills required.


3) Ability to use PC-based word processing and spreadsheet software to initiate memos, reports, graphics, and correspondence


4) Excellent attention to detail required.


5) General computer knowledge, such as e-mail and internet required


6) Computerized purchasing and CMMS experience preferred.


7) Excellent working knowledge of the manufacturing areas supported


8) High school diploma or equivalent and 15+ years of maintenance experience required, preferably in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, or Bachelors degree and 5+ years maintenance supervising experience. Planning and scheduling experience is a plus.
