Maintenance Supervisor - Chemical Plant

Compass Chemical International LLC is a privately held chemical manufacturer and leading marketer of imported chemicals. Compass recently acquired a manufacturing/terminal facility in Huntsville, TX and more recently, on July 8, acquired the manufacturing plant in Smyrna, GA, which was previously owned and operated by Lynx Chemical Group.

The Smyrna plant is the only full line phosphonate manufacturer in the United States and the plant is equipped with numerous glass lined and stainless steel reactors

 

As Maintenance Supervisor you will be responsible for managing the Smyrna GA plant maintenance function and for coaching and leading a team of 5 maintenance mechanics. You will report directly to the Plant Manager.  If you are safety conscious, self motivated, well organized, a good communicator and a team player who wishes to grow with a dynamic company while working in a non-union environment, this might be the opportunity for you.

 

To qualify you will need the following:

 

- A BS degree in an engineering discipline is strongly desired. However, a combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered.

- 5+ year?s supervisory experience in an industrial manufacturing operation. Chemical plant experience and or electrical /instrumentation background is preferred. We will consider other areas of plant maintenance with exceptional credentials and experience.

- Knowledge of PLC?s and DCS systems.

- Knowledge of mechanical systems including but not limited to HVAC, pumping systems, boilers, piping, valves, meters, mixing systems, etc.

- Familiarity with glass lined equipment would be an advantage

- Knowledge of maintenance work permit systems, preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and computerized maintenance management systems is essential.

- Experience implementing and enforcing safety systems.

- Experience working in a chemical manufacturing operation regulated under OSHA, PSM, EPA, EPD and local regulatory agencies.
