Manager - Finish Improvement

Position Summary:

The Manager-Semi-Custom Finish Improvement will own and drive Continuous Improvement in the seven MBCI Semi-Custom finish operations.  This individual will supervise and coordinate the efforts of the Finish Specialists working at each facility to ensure consistency and translation of Best Practices.  Expected results include increased production rates, reduced product defect rates, improved material usage efficiency, improved labor efficiency, and flawless new finish introduction.  This individual must become certified as a Six Sigma Black Belt and a Lean Practitioner if not already certified.

 

Accountabilities:

? Identify, track, and drive improvement in key Finish Improvement metrics.

? Scope appropriate projects and prioritize resources.

? Act as a key technical resource for finish process and technology decisions.

? Serve as key point contact with finish material suppliers.

? Set direction for future state of Semi-Custom finish.


Knowledge, Skills & Experience:



? Bachelor?s degree in Business, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering or other comparable degree

? Minimum of 5 years experience in engineering or manufacturing roles preferred and good familiarity with finish processes

? Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills (both verbal and written)

? Highly developed problem solving and project management skills

? Experience with change management principles and demonstrated ability to drive and manage the change process

? Demonstrated facilitation and coaching skills

? Demonstrated ability to use information technology (internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Lotus Notes?)

? Proven ability to handle multiple tasks

? Ability to setup, track and document results as required

? Willingness and ability to travel overnight up to 40% (approximately 8 nights / month)

 

Education:Four year degree preferred or equivalent experience.
