Manager, Production & Material Control

Mid-Ohio, plastic injection molding facility with 300 employees is seeking an experienced Manager for a newly created position in the Production & Material Control Dept. with additional responsibilities to include critical functions in our Purchasing Dept.  Excellent health benefits, 401k, paid vacations and 11 paid holidays.  Annual salary range is 55k to 70k depending on experience.

 

Responsibilities include supplier selection and procurement of material, price negotiations, design changes, and annual cost reduction initiatives with suppliers.  Act as a liaison between quality, engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers.  Assist the Division Manager of the Production & Material Control department in supervising the day-to-day operations of the department, inclusive of, but not limited to, supervision of other associates, purchased components, ordering and receiving, production scheduling, all material movement flow, and inventory control.

 

Requirements include: Bachelor?s Degree in Business, Management, Materials, or Engineering with specific areas of study in purchasing, materials management, or other related field, a minimum 8 years experience in purchasing with a history of supplier selection, cost negotiation, and materials management.  Some working knowledge of blue prints/specification drawings.  Minimum 3 years supervisory or management experience in a purchasing, materials management, or production-scheduling department.  Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Power Point. 

 

Preferred requirements:  Experience in materials management and production scheduling.  Automotive purchasing experience.  APICS certified.
