Manager of Formulation Operations and Contract Manufacturing

Summary:  This manager is responsible for managing the performance of third party contract manufacturing companies with the US.  It may also include direct management responsibility for one or more Alpharma formulation manufacturing facilities.  This includes monitoring and controlling the quality, costs and output of suppliers of raw materials, intermediates/bulk active drug components and formulators of medical feed additives.  This person will be a member of the team that plans, supplies and delivers products to ensure that the needs of the marketplace are achieved with regards to meeting sales forecasts and inventory management objectives.

 

Qualifications:Bachelors degree a scientific discipline; 5 years or more of experience in production or related technical management; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in manufacturing operations in a regulated industry.  Background in bulk formulations technologies, Quality Assurance/Quality Control and/or Regulatory Compliance preferred.
Responsible for managing the capacity, quality and cost of contract manufacturing of medicated feed additive products for the Alpharma Health Division.
Works closely with Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing and Regulatory functions to address technical issues concerning the feed additive products.
Interacts with contract manufacturers and suppliers to establish contract terms and address any issue of clarifications in existing contracts.
Work with the Planning function to develop a unified, accurate product forecast for manufacturing.
Evaluates new technologies/toll manufacturers in support of Market and Regulatory needs for existing and new products.
Ability to read analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
This position will include domestic and international travel.


Supervisory Responsibility: May include management responsibilities for one or more formulations manufacturing sites.

 

Important:  This position will be located in Fort Lee, NJuntil laet 2006 /early 2007,  It will be moving to either Bridgewater or Berkeley Heights, NJ on a long term basis.  Candidate must be able to commute tao all locations.
