Manufacturing Manager, Telecom Access Equipment

MANUFACTURING MANAGER, TELECOM ACCESS EQUIPMENT

 

Build and lead a new telecommunications product manufacturing group.  Develop and execute strategic and tactical manufacturing plans that ensure operational objectives are met.  Key responsibilities include:

? Component engineering

? Forecast management

? Monitoring lead times

? Monitoring and enforcing quality objectives

? Managing repairs and returns

? Developing an operating budget for manufacturing and monitoring budget performance

? Staffing the manufacturing group from scratch utilizing Aztek?s recruiting and interviewing process

? Defining and deploying a planning process that allows flexible supply chain response while optimizing inventory levels of components, parts, and finished goods

? Defining an appropriate outsourcing strategy and selecting suppliers that meet cost, quality and delivery objectives

? Identifying and evaluating candidate CEMs, and negotiating turnkey CEM contracts

? Developing and implementing appropriate policies/practices/procedures to ensure efficient, effective, high quality, profitable manufacturing operations

? Defining and deploying effective, efficient test processes that meet telecom equipment standards; and driving unit and functional tests and test evolution

? Interfacing with Engineering and QA for smooth, fast transition of products to manufacturing

? Achieving on-going cost reductions through effective supplier negotiation and productivity improvements

? Reviewing and analyzing day-to-day manufacturing operations and taking appropriate actions to meet goals

? Supporting sales and customer support

? Implementing an appropriate IT infrastructure to assure:

1.  Engineering Change Control integrity

2.  Product documentation capture and archiving

3.  Closed loop planning process (MRP)



SKILL / EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:  Proven track record of planning and executing a successful new hardware/software product launch utilizing contract manufacturer5-8 years progressive experience in manufacturing or comparable environmentExperience with communications technologies preferredStrong project management skills, including the ability to deliver results on multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to react quickly and adapt to changes in priorities, circumstances, and direction, both internally and on the part of the customerEffective planning, budgeting, negotiating, managing, problem-solving, communication, and teambuilding skills Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and customersDemonstrated commitment to quality and internal and external customer satisfaction Highly organized and self-motivated Strong understanding of financial and business conceptsBachelor?s degree in Engineering, Business or related manufacturing technical discipline; MBA preferredAbility to travel up to 10%
