Manufacturing Process Technician
CITY: Milwaukee STATE: Wisconsin COUNTRY: USA Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
Perform detailed inspection and cleaning of frame components for Metal X-ray tubes. Inspections are both visual and with the use of various measurement systems and gages. Cleaning is both manual and with some basic cleaning equipment. Assess, document, and disposition defects.
Perform rework of X-ray tube insert components: Assess the defect mode; document required actions for cutting open inserts, defect evaluation, rework actions, and scrap requirements; perform Oracle transactions; provide rework instructions to Production Associates. Turn around defective material in less than seven days and reduce MRB inventory.
Assist process engineers in the following areas: Develop new processes and equipment for quality and capacity; install, test, and qualify new equipment; re-arrange operational layouts and flow for maximum efficiency; develop processes to reduce Scrap and MRB; work directly with internal GE customers to eliminate defects; maintain work instructions, PA training, calibrations, CAPA, process CTQ's.
The candidate must be comfortable with hands-on use of mechanical tools, gauges, shop equipment, and Oracle transactions. Lead and execute projects to improve Yield, Scrap, Productivity, and total operational efficiency. Focus on long-term solutions, process robustness, and sustainability. Work directly with peers, process engineers, and Production Associates on a daily basis to achieve team and individual goals. These goals are achieved with maximum efficiency while using available tools such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma. Excellent communication, organization, time management, and technical skills are essential. Must thrive in a fast-pace environment with high performance expectations.
Qualifications/Requirements:
-Two-year associates degree in a technical field or 3 years of equivalent experience in a technical field involving electronics, manufacturing or engineering.
-PC Proficiency in Excel, Power Point and Microsoft Word.
Desired:
-Certified Six Sigma Green Belt
-Mechanical Engineering degree-Experience in Oracle or similar database
-Experience in X-ray tubes, Imaging Sub-Systems, or process-sensitive manufacturing-Strong technical acumen.
-Refined analytical skills, detail oriented, and data driven.
-Highly motivated, energetic, and creative. A "hands-on" person.
-Excellent communication skills.
