Manufacturing Technician

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for the continuous improvement of existing and future manufacturing processes and techniques. This position is also accountable to supporting Production and Operations departments within the Gig Harbor (GH), WA Manufacturing facility.

 

Examples of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

?Condition of employment requires knowledge and conformance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) as applicable to the position
?Support Manufacturing with processing and documentation of pilot batches
?Review possible implementation of new manufacturing equipment, processes and techniques
?Assist the Director of Technical Services and Sr. Director of Operations with any special requests to facilitate production
?Support manufacturing with batch adjustments on non-conforming blends
?Assist manufacturing with setup of production batches, achieving higher levels of quality and efficiency
?Support Tooling Technician in troubleshooting tool damage and wear
?Support maintenance department in troubleshooting equipment failures as needed
?Assist Manufacturing in monitoring rework inventory balance and support manufacturing with rework batch adjustments as required
?Evaluate/Review process deviations made in all production departments and initiate Master Change Orders or Training to support Operations at the GH mfg facility

 

Qualifications:

Education/Training:
?5 years weighing, blending and granulation experience-Fluid Bed and High Shear
?5 years tablet compression experience-Manesty, Stokes, Courtoy, Kikusui and Korsch presses
?2 years pilot plant experience-spray drying, film coating, tablet compression, weighing, blending, granulation, milling, tablet quality testing and pilot scale packaging

 

Knowledge:
?Knowledge of the GMP manufacturing process flow
?5 years related experience

 

Skills and Abilities:
?Very quick learner, able to assimilate information from a variety of sources
?Strong Mechanical inclination
?Strong computer skills
?Strong problem solving skills
?Able to work independently
?Operation of fork lift truck
