GENERAL FUNCTION:

Leads, motivates, and sets the overall direction for the members of the Marketing Communications Department.  Responsible for the tactical execution of all creative to support strategic marketing and business initiatives.  Ensures that internal and external collateral and messaging properly reflects the brand image of the company.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Hires, mentors, and motivates the marketing communcations staff.  Sets a high-energy tone and approach within the marketing communications department.

2. Establishes project timelines and milestones and manages the department to meet or exceed agreed upon timelines and deliverables.

3. Works side-by-side with the marcom staff to mentor and to inspire development of high-impact visual and messaged collateral.

4. Directly influence all customer-facing creative and marcom programs to insure consistency across the Modern Postcard brand in look, feel, and image by working closely with the appropriate individuals and departments.  Insure all creative is on strategy with the overall business and marketing objectives.

5. Builds a strong day-to-day working relationship with peers and individual contributors in the marketing and sales organizations in order to influence and understand the overall business and marketing strategy for Modern Postcard.

6. Add creative expertise and influence to demand generation programs that integrate direct mail, advertising, email, PR, catalog and web elements.

7. Effectively utilize third party agencies and contract talent as appropriate to balance out expertise and workload requirements in order to meet marketing communications deliverables and timelines.

8. Helps to establish and maintain the MP brand and standards.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must have prior experience demonstrating the ability to successfully accomplish all of the responsibilities for the position as described above.

2. Bachelor?s degree in a visual/creative arts or business discipline from a top tier four-year college or university.

3. Must have at least three years of prior experience conducting direct mail programs and campaigns.  Understanding customer applications for offset and digital printing is a big plus.

4. Must have at least three years of experience both hiring and managing marketing communications professionals, completed formal management training course work, and demonstrate the ability to effectively adjust management style as needed.

5. Must have developed and be able to demonstrate a creative portfolio with high impact, effective collateral materials.

 

Salary:  $70K - $110K Depending upon experience
