Material Control Assistant

A Las Vegas pool and spa components and tools company is seeking a material control assistant to join their rapidly growing office. The material control assistant keeps the materials manager advised on departmental status, assists the purchasing agent on special projects, runs weekly reports, interacts with vendors, enters purchase orders into the computer system, interfaces with other departmental supervisors and coordinators, and serves as a backup for the receptionist. Additional duties will include comparing costs on vendor acknowledgements to purchase order pricing, assisting quality control with return vendor items, time sensitive vendor follow-up, running weekly production reports, and maintaining a neat and organized work area.All applicants applying for U.S. job openings must be authorized to work in the United States. Qualifications :
The ideal candidate will have 2 or more years experience as a purchasing assistant or inventory control specialist. Good math skills, experience negotiating price/quantity orders, and some word processing and data entry experience, especially in a manufacturing environment are required. Good written and verbal communication skills as well as logical problem solving skills are highly desired. Qualified candidates must be organized, detail oriented and sensitive to daily schedules and deadlines.
