Material Handler II

FLIR Systems ? Imaging Division, the world?s leading supplier of innovative airborne and ground based infrared and visible light imaging systems for military, law enforcement and commercial applications, is currently seeking a candidate who will be an active team member in our Portland Operations Stockroom.

 

The selected candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks in support of general material handling and related functions providing service to all internal and external customers in an accurate and timely manner. These functions include but are not limited to component kitting, stocking material, issuing of material, receipt of material from outside warehouses, performing cycle count to check inventory, shipping,  receiving, and maintaining clerical records. The ideal candidate will possess a High School diploma or equivalent and minimum two years of related experience.  Some undergraduate courses preferred.  Must be able to count accurately and to differentiate between similar part numbers.  Basic math skills including knowledge of U.S. monetary and weight systems.  English skills sufficient to read, comprehend and write detailed instructions. Previous experience with an MRP system, and PC for data entry, inquiry and communication.  Familiar with electronic components, including ability to read color coded components, previous material handling experience desirable.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must exhibit strong organizational skills.  Numerical accuracy and prioritization are critical in this job.  The candidate must be able to work independently, and frequently under time constraints.  This person will be regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. This person must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
